All detailed and useful information about all types of short term or "Schengen visas" can be obtained on the website of the Ministry of the Interior. Please check the information on this website first.

Taiwanese passport holders no longer need a visa to travel to Belgium (and the rest of the Schengen area) for short term stays.

After submitting your visa application on Visa On Web, please bring the following documents for your appointment at the Belgian Office, Taipei:

  • A printed and signed copy of your Visa On Web application form 
  • 1 recent passport photograph in color
  • An air ticket reservation. Upon approval of the visa, a confirmed air ticket must be shown when picking up the visa.
  • Your travel schedule (itinerary below)
  • Proof of financial means (banking records of last 3 months or credit card). By lack of sufficient own financial means, the applicant can submit a “commitment that charge will be taken” signed by a guarantor (Annex 3 bis). This document can be obtained at the “City Hall” of the place of residence of the guarantor and has to be submitted to the Belgian Office, Taipei together with the guarantor's 3 last salary slips and copy of ID-card, for validation.
  • A hotel reservation or letter of invitation of family or friends.
  • A copy of your Alien Resident Certificate (ARC，your ARC has to be valid AT LEAST 3 months AFTER the intended leave of the Schengen-area).
  • A copy of the date page of your passport  (the validity of your passport should be at least 3 months more than the duration of your intended stay in Belgium).
  • If you go on business travel: a letter of your company or organization explaining the purpose of the visit and guaranteeing the payment of travel expenses and/or a letter of invitation of the company of organization you are going to visit. More information about your business may be required.
  • A Schengen insurance
  • The amount of the visa fee
